Growing up in Cornwall I have always enjoyed spending time outdoors and being creative. I started out making beaded jewellery, including my own and friends' wedding jewellery and more recently focused on my passion for working with silver and creating simple elegant pieces.  In 2020 I launched Leaya Slater Jewellery and now work from my garden studio nestled in the middle of an arable farm in Suffolk. I work mostly in silver incorporating gold, sea-glass and gemstones using traditional silversmithing techniques. I am fascinated with shape, form and texture. I use hammers and mandrels to forge geometric shapes, bring sea treasures to life and add interesting texture to silver.
